I shot my new 6920 this afternoon. It's really accurate but the trigger is horrible. I am going to send it in for a Bill Springfield job come Monday. Of the 7 AR rifles I own this is the worst trigger of the lot.

I see you're trying to get some people upset on here by the way chose to title your post?!?! Seems like a trigger is a pretty simple problem to fix........
|
|
Don't fuck with the trigger... at all.
They are hardened at the factory and fucking with them will cause reliability issues. |
|
new member....check
low post count...check polish your trigger |

Send it to me. I'll break it in for you. Don't expect a match grade trigger from a military style weapon.
|
|
If you want if the best, build your own. Its the only way to be sure.
|
|
If you could own a genuine USGI M4 or M16A4, the trigger would likely feel the same. Those rifles are built to a VERY high standard. Match triggers were not a concern, but reliability and ruggedness are. Your new Colt will be both rugged and reliable, I'm sure. That's what you are paying for.

Colt triggers do suck. Bill Springfield should be able to make it all better for you though.

Strawberry is my favorite flavor! Ain't nothing wrong with the Colt trigger. It was designed as a Combat rifle not a precision target rifle. They do make precision target rifles with outstanding triggers, try one. |

My 6920 trigger felt like it had sand in it. I sent it to Bill Springfield and got a 4 lb. trigger job, now the break is nice and clean. I wish I would have gone for the 3 lb. job though.

I'll take it off your hands, crappy trigger and all, won't charge you for it!
|

But if you fix the trigger then what are you going to blame for your poor groups? The ammo???? I would leave it alone.

Colt 6920 as said its a combat weapon. If you use your rifle for duty or defense and have a trigger modified look out. For duty and a modify trigger, I bet your department will say no and its a big liability. As for a civilian who wants to use this weapon for defense a light trigger under stress can cause you problems. If you are using the trigger correctly then you will understand on trigger slack, press and then the reset for the follow up shot if needed. If you have this light trigger, under stress and dont train with it on a regular basis then you could have a unintentional discharge causing injury or death.
Hey its your rifle just be safe and have fun. |

Colt makes a match trigger.
I'm using them in two AR's and they work great. |

Try alittle greece on the contact points of trigger. Should be good for a pound or 2. You don't have anything to loose. How is he going to put a country on his trigger? |

Fixed.. people from greece are very greasy. I know, I'm a WHOP..

I love my 6920 but the trigger does suck. I'm not going to mess with it, I like to keep things OEM.

Replace with RRA two stage trigger. On second thought, Colt doesn't use std. diameter pins. . . RRA trigger might not fit. Weird that the #1 Koolaid brand doesn't use standard parts? |
|
also colt makes a lighter trigger. it comes in the CARA3 HBAR elite. its the low mass trigger and its a huge improvement and is colt parts, you can get it a SAW
|

There is nothing wrong with the Colt trigger if it's not that sissys will complain about something else,I mean pussys.
My SP1 Sits as was 1984 bad trigger not so many sissys then. |

I think he meant to say,
"take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." It's from the movie "Aliens." Right now, I'd be happy to own a 6920 with a "crappy" trigger! |

LoL.. infact this is a very strange thread. The OP just said he didnt like the trigger on his new Colt. I think he shouldve reworded the title to say the COLT trigger sux, not the whole firearm. and triggers are very easy to sort out, esp. on AR15s, so its really no big deal, just a matter of swapping some parts out. Seems ppl get excited over the simplest things. |
