Just bought a new AR soft carry case from CTD.  It has tons of room for ???  Also, if you fill it up, isn't it to heavy to carry?

Six 30 rounders, two 20 rounders, and a SLED (Single Shot Loading Device). These go in the velcro mag pouches on the side of the case. There's another zipper pocket where I keep paper targets. Mine is not too heavy.

Last time I used mine, I put about 8 mags in it, my RRA, a Colt 1911, a Browning HP with the tangent/ladder sights, and some more ammo.  It was heavy, but it worked sincle I only had to go a few feet from the car to the bench.  Second time, I just the RA and a few less mags.  Much easier to carry, and I won't pop the seams.

do you plan on hiking with this case?...
at most you'll prob be carrying it from your car to the firing line right? I don't really see where weight will play a big factor here.

Someone please enlighten my ignorance?

My Rifle, two pistols in the pistol pockets with magazines. On the outside pockets I carry .223 on stripper clips, CLP, and handgun ammo. In the actual rifle pocket i carry two 30 rounders an a 20 rounder. It is heavy but I'm moving maybe a 100 yards at most. That being said last time I went to the range i didn't carry the ammo in the case. My Ammo Box i carried it in was far more uncomfortable than the heavy case.

You'll love the CTD case.

A few loaded P-mags. Everything else is stored in my vest and bag. The vest is always with my rifle.

IF L.E.O., you will want to carry extra loaded mags, an extra weapon light, quickie cleaning gear, lots and lots of spare batteries for lights and optics, hearing protection-i.e. soft plugs at the least, and sight tool. A simple bipod is handy for long sittings on watch.

8 30 rd filled PMags, 100 or so loose rds, pistol, 4 pistol mags, 100 or so 9mm, cleaning kit and oh yeah, the AR.
Yup, it's pretty heavy.

Case hell. I carry all that shit on me with the weapon slung. For transportation I stuff
what all does or can not go in my gear in the soft case. My hard cases are fit for just
the rifle with the flashlight removed.
