I bought this upper and noticed that it has what looks like an A2 FH with metal disk in the middle. How would that effect the operation of the FH and what is its purpose?
Upper is a CMMG if it helps.

Looks like an A2 FH with a peel washer stuck on the wrong end.

Looks like a brake, and a WECSOG brake at that.

You cannot see it in the picture (fuzzy) but the way the metal disk is mounted looks way to neat to be a home job.

An A2 style brake perhaps?
During the dark years of the AWB, there were brakes similar to the one pictured above, that resembled an A2 FH. One other difference between the brake and FH, besides the enclosed front end, was that the brake had a larger outside diameter to prevent the attachment of a grenade launcher. |

Seller said it was an early KAC muzzle device, if that helps. I have to check if I can remove it and install a standard A2.
