What are you working on at the moment?
Building/buying rifles and accessories? Stocking up on mags? Stocking up on ammo? I just finished stocking up on the parts for my new build... Colt 1/7 14.5" Ltwt barrel Mega upper and lower RRA 2 stage LPK/Stock Kit ARMS 40L BUIS Still deciding on rails and optics... but that should get it built to test... So I think it is back to ammo and mags! Primarily my next purchase will be for 20 or so magazines. You? |
I want a LMT 16"M4 upper so bad I can't stand it and nobody has them
I know this is popular here........but I really try to avoid the flavor of the month.....When I first joined arfcom you needed an m4gery with M4 feed ramps, then it went to mid leanths, then SPRs, then lightweights, then pistons never caught on, so now it seems 6.8 SPCs uppers are the current flavor.
I have attempted to aviod the flavor of the month but must admit the 6.8 scp is calling me. I have been bit by the magpul Pmag and my next purchase will be a number of them. I have two rifles left to complete my BRD one will be an M-16a2 with a 37mm M-203 clone the other will most likley be a 6.8spc upper fudded with wood furniter. I am done with accessories, I only have one rifle with rails it has a 120 lumen surfire light, KAC VFG, silent sling, EO tech and cherrokee IR laser. There is nothing more to add to it. I will not start another accesorized rifle, one is all I need. |
I have 2 SBRs I really want to build, then I need to stock up on ammo then mags
I am working on a 6.8 recce build right now. I am sending Cardinal Armory a Vltor Mur and DD lite 12 sometime next week when I make my order. Cant wait! Then I want to eventually replace the upper on my m forgery with a LMT one.
Yeah... I still have an upper on order from about two months ago... If you look hard though I am sure you can find one. |
Until yesterday, it was finishing an SBR with a can, and another M4 with a colt upper and an ACOG. Oh, and changing my current M4 to a Mk12.
Then yesterday I shot a barrett. ARs don't matter anymore |
Yeah.... that is a whole different poll... |
Besides, if you were gonna get to buy a Colt M4 upper with less than 1k rounds through it, RAS, buis, and an ACOG for a grand, would you let anything, even a Barrett, get in your way? |
Well... I would like to say that I wouldn't but...... In true Arfcom fashion... I just saved so much on the upper that.... |

Ammo here, with a focus on pistol caliber carbines waiting in the wings.
Working on all three areas. I have 2 builds underway so right now that is where I am focusing, however, I buy magazines and ammo as often as possible.
Not doin it for me. No wood here. |

I'm in the middle of building my precision AR rifle right now but can't make up my mind about what brand of barrel to get.
I might just start my next project first which is a gov't profile middy carbine to keep on moving, BRD is forcing me to get going. Next would be a couple of lowers. For mags I've got three ARs now and I've got 20 30rd mags for each of them so no problem, but after I finish my next project I'll have to get at least 20 more mags for it. Ammo no problem for now got at least 1K+ of surplus SS109 but I'll have to get more when my projects are done. |
Needs a baklite mag in it. |

AMMO!
Learning to reload, and it's a good deal of fun. Bought 10 P-mags with windows and never thought anything more of it... might need to buy some more down the road? |
I have recently been affected by a different strain of BRD. Knights products seem to be the only cure right now. I have a upper out right now to get a URX installed.

d. All The Above
Though I was lucky to have taken the word of the "ammo prices are going up" crowd, and bought plenty when it was cheap, so I am not hurting in that area. |
Ammo is where my focus is. I have a feeling it will be more expensive next year and maybe harder to get especially us island folks. I'm okay with mags and accessories for now. I'm having fun with my pistols and revolver so I've been training more with that aspect of this shooting sport than anything right now especially since ammo is available locally and much more cheaper than .223/5.56 rounds.

Ammo.
I have a good supply of mags. I’m more than happy with the rifles I currently have, it’s feeding them (and the wife and kids ) that’s a challenge right now. |
A little bit of all three. Just ordered all the parts for AR #12. Still need to order five PMAGs to go with it. I keep at least five magazines with each operational AR. My two Colts are collector pieces and are, therefore, not in the operational category. Always trying to stock up on ammo.
http://www.gandrtactical.com/ has them in stock. I ordered one last Thursday, should be here in a day or two. Edited to add: Rifles is the focus. Ammo is too expensive and I stocked up pretty well when it was cheap. I got about 12 mags per rifle so far, I just keep that ratio. When I find a good deal I buy. Now that I have the basics covered I'm refining, picking up those "must have" accessories I haven't been able to afford up until now. The LMT upper will hopefully become my main go to rifle and the end all be all. (yeah right!). We'll see. |
I just finished a complete LMT about 3 weeks ago. My goal is to buy another one within the next 3-4 months. I want to have the same rifle, set up to a different configuration. A lot of ammo helps too.
Getting a couple more buddies in the neighborhood hooked and outfitted to flesh out my "neighborhood watch"...
ammo mags train, lather rinse repeat. |
got two rifles and about 80 mags, mix of aluminum gi, and magpul. all im working on is ammo right now, thats the thing that is getting more expensive everyday, i figure better buy it today, cause might not be able to afford it tomorrow. hell, cant afford it today, but im working on it. ill never have what the ammo whores have, but i will get up to about 1000k for every gun i have , all quality hp, or sp ammo, with probably 2-3000k per ar-rifle. if i get that ill be pretty content. that will all be put in storage, then ill just buy new ammo for shooting and hunting when i get the time for it.
Rifles, then mags and ammo last. Ammo just costs too much these days and I still have 5-6K left ATM.
In the past two months I've had to revise some builds to be quiet compatible since MO passed suppressor legislation. I've got ammo, two cans, a LaRue Stealth upper, and a Nightforce scope all waiting to come in. Needless to say I'll be sitting out any more buying for a while until my wallet cools off.

That is just too cool. |
Finishing 2 builds.
#1 - precision rifle, just need barrel and optics #2 - RECCE - need tons of stuff for that one. Got mags and ammo, can always use more, but for now I'm happy |
All of the above.
Trying to concentrate on limited availability items, such as those no longer being imported. |
An Aimpoint ML3 to replace my aging Comp M XD (That I will move to my AK )
Link to a happy place! Ammo Though I am already considering my next rifle options. I'd like to build a KISS 14.5" mid-length, or a nice accurate 16" barreled bench rifle. If I choose the 14.5" mid-length first it will be done in no time. If I go with the bench rifle a lot of money will go into it, so it will take longer to build. The problem is I can't decide which one I want to start on first. |
