I just bought my first AR15, DPMS Panther A4. Please tell me the pros and cons of this particular brand.

In my experiences there are no shortcomings with DPMS.

Others will say it isn't one of the elite brands, doesn't use quality parts, isn't mil-spec, etc.

Shoot it. If it works for you, be happy with what you've got.

Only con I can think of is that you will have to feed it ammo...constantly.  Have fun with your new rifle and be safe and welcome to the forum.

Shoot it, don't get wrapped around the axle about minutia.

barrel steels
MP testing of bolts
F-marked sight bases
etc. etc.
