I have one of these on order and I am curious how many people here have them. If so how do you have yours set up are any used for duty or are they moor of a hobby gun. I still have not decided on what optic I am going to get yet but I'm going with the troy folding sights.

Have 2 of em.  One CQB and one rifle length.  Rifle length is 18" SS for fun.  CQB is 14.5" for duty/social control.  Using Swarovoski 1x6Z6i on the rifle length and AImpoint M3 on the CQB w/ TROY BUIS & FR.

10 to 12 days from the time I ordered it from the dealer, but the dealer had them on order prior to my order so I am not sure what the actual lead time was.

What kind of pricing are you seeing on the LMT MRP?
Link Posted: 3/11/2008 5:02:22 PM EDT
[#18]
They havn't got the invoice yet so I dont know but they said it would be a little less then the LMT list price on LMT site. I got the cqb mrp uper with 16 cl barrel and the Defender Lower with SOPMOD Stock and Two Stage Trigger, + charging handle and the bolt and carrier group I chose. I think they are ordering it from LMT I need to call and check though.

Thats pretty close to mine. Just a few different accessories, and a similar, but different scope.

Its a nice configuration...did you find that the barrel bolts needed alittle extra torque coming from the factory or the point of aim was off abit?

have you popped out the barrel and tried any of their 6.8mm conversions? Was thinking about going this way depending upon ammo availability..

I went with the upgraded nickel bolt.. this gun really spits out the carbon but so far after a few K in rounds..no function issues..

this what I would like to buy/build next.  Gonna be hard as its almost impossible to import SBRs now..Noveske

As Colt is basically unavailable up here...LMT seems to be about the best bang for the buck.. After I saw the pic of the MRP billet log I was sold

I bought the MRP upper a few weeks ago from a local guy thru EE. Just ordered my lower yesterday (thanks Dennysguns/GTS) and hoping it's here by the weekend.

when I bought the upper, I got the CQB MRP w/ 16" 5.56 as well as a 16" 6.8 barrel and enhanced BCG. probably will sell the standard 16" 6.8 (just posted it in the EE used section) and go ahead and order the 18" SS barrel in the 6.8 instead.

have a simmons scope for the 6.8 and will mount something like an Eotech on it when the 5.56 barrel is on it.

ordered a defender 2000 lower w/ sopmod and 2 stage trigger that should be here shortly. can't wait. i'll post some photos when i get it setup.

a lot more $$ than I wanted to spend on my first EBR but figured it'll last me a long time. :)

is spikes tac looking to make a .22lr barrel for the MRP? and maybe a 9mm? I'd definitly be interested. assuming it'd be like the 6.8 where you get a different BCG and magazine and be ready to roll??? very interested!!!

i've been considering one of their pistol lowers as my next build but the .22lr has a lot of appeal because of the cost of ammo these days. I'd go for that first then maybe a 9mm (again the cost of ammo vs. 5.56).

I have a Les Baer (chrome) bolt carrier for it, but a standard Colt bolt. I have shot it surpressed (M4200) some. I only just recently got this short upper, but have had no issues with it (or my older 16" rifle length MRP). I used to have a rifle length MRP and a friend has a CQB MRP with the 16" 5.56 and 16" 6.8 barrels. We would swap them pretty often. So much so that the torq screw would start to get torn up a little. Not bad, the screw heads were fine, but you could see it had been loosened and tightened a lot. I like 6.8, I have 3 guns in that round, and if I can get a short 6.8 MRP barrel, I will get it for this one. Ammo is more available now then ever, and unlike all other ammo, 6.8 ammo has actually come down a little.

My MRP is 3rd from the left here

What's the weight comparison between a CQB upper with the 14.5 " or 16" barrel with say a standard upper with an LT 9.0?

I once saw the CQB upper without barrel listed as 23 oz.  Larue 9.0 rail is .854 lb. add your stripped upper and compare.  Im 80% sure my numbers are right.

Price for a stripped upper and barrel for an LMT CQB MRP should be around $1,000.00

They are sick!!!  It was my second AR, before the ARs I only had HKs pistols, and a real HK91.  The LMT MRP is the only AR I have seen with HK quality.  I would love to buy an HK 416, but this is just as good.

Mine has run like a top for over 600 rds. My only complaint was the MRP was purple color.  As you can see from the pic below the Defender lowers anodizing doesn't have the purple tinge as the upper does.  I'm normally don't care if the finish is not perfect on any of my guns but for the money I spent it's a bit annoying
