I'm new to flat tops and am wondering why would you put a riser on one when a A2 Carry handel would work better?  Is  it the cost difference? Maybe the A2 brings the scope, ACOG up to high?/

Sorry for the newbie question, thanks

The riser brings the optic to the same level as the iron sights, allowing a proper cheek weld.

The flat top is far more versatile than anything with an integral carry handle, imo.

Also, risers are sometimes used to suit a rifle to a specific optic or an individuals anatomy, hold, or preference, etc. The ACOG is available with dedicated mounts for every standard AR config. with or without carry handle
