look it up on youtube.com.  basically, holding the rifle in a way that the recoil pushes the rifle back, and as it comes back forward, the trigger is pressed, and it all happens again.  make sence???   look it up,  some of the guys exlain it better than i can.  it does work though, and its expensive

Firearm parlor trick.

Neat, but with ammo=$$$ not so much.

Horribly inacurate.

Just kidding,  in short instead of holding the weapon firm and moving your trigger finger, you do the oppisite.  You hold the weapon loosly and keep your trigger finger stiff.  Usually you'll take your support hand to pull the weapon foreward and let the weapon "bump" off of your trigger finger.  If you keep your trigger finger stiff enough the recoil will move the weapon back and forth into your finger causing a rapid fire effect.

Good for plinkin and wasting ammo, but noise is fun too I guess.

realy fun with a 9mil ar. I hook my thumb in a one point sling and hold the rifle "uzi style" kind of in my armpit instead of from the hip. I can dump a mag into a person size group at 35 to 50 yards.

Looks like full-auto and not bump firing to me. I could be wrong though.

Trust me, anyone can bump fire with practice.  And if you do it right, it can hit man size targets at 35-50 meters.

Lots of folks here in the dfw crew can bump fire from the shoulder.

bump firing is the firearms equivalent of putting one of those giant exhaust tips on your car... ALL SHOW and NO GO... and a total waste of money...

I'm always curious... of those that make comments like yours.

1.  Can you bump fire?
2.  Did you try and fail?
3.  Do you own a TittleII weapon?

Who cares?

If you can bump in a safe manner on a closed range, and you have the cash for the ammo, then rock on!

I have done it, it is fun. The current FCG on my M4gery makes is difficult.

Does anyone here honestly believe that all those guys who own registered machineguns go out and do "tactical training" everytime they go to the range? I have met a couple who drag their full-auto toys out for no other reason than to turn money into loud noise. It's fun. Even for someone who grew up in the green maching dragging belt-fed weapons around.

If you love guns, then dumping a magazine is sure to bring a smile to your face no matter if it's through bump firing or a full-auto.

I will admit, I would love to get good enough to bump a magazine into a taget at 25 yards.

1. yes
2. n/a
3. no but i have shot various auto guns... M16 (5.56 and 9mm), MP5/MP5SD, Thompson, SAW... and there is no comparison to bump firing and a real auto gun... it doesn't impress and/or thrill me to "pretend" to be firing full auto... just like "pretending" to have a race car...

Hell, I did used the Arfcomm method and 'got both.'

I still bump fire.

I enjoy bumping my 5.45 AK. I also enjoy shooting my F/A stuff.

I am quite accurate when bumping, and can do it with most semi auto guns.

Here's the AK:

Fun every now and then.  Don't do it regularly, becomes too expensive.
