It's OK but not even close to some of the tricked out carbines you can buy from many of the vendors here or easily build yourself.

It's got some nice gear and RRA makes a great gun, but they are not the best (IMO). I would probably change out a lot of the kit it comes with.

Is it a 1:9 twist on the barrel? Is so that would be my problem with it. ymmv.

the best carbine there is fits you and your needs perfectly. that being said, there are a few things on the RRA I would change. their bolt for an MP tested bolt their 4140 barrel for a 4150 barrel their barrel profile for a lighter (under the handguards) profile dump the Surefire foreend for a Daniel Defense (old style) or LaRue I wouldn't feel undergunned with the RR (in fact I like 'em), but is it perfect? not in my opinion. |

Made my decision early on to go down the AK path and have been buying Arsenals ever since. I'm getting interested in ARs again because you're about 3 House sessions away from losing the right to buy them. So I want the very best while I still can. |

You want the best? Buy a Colt 6920. Then get a LaRue or Daniel Defense front rail, a VLTOR adjustable stock, Magpul MIAD grip, and a quality 1:8 stainless steel barrel. The light and sight RRA put on that rifle is acceptable. |

The Colt 6920 is a better weapon. Get one, and be happy. If you don't, you'll always wish you did.

Umm, guys? I don't think he was asking if the stuff it comes with is the best. He was asking if this was the best mass produced, "stock" rifle to come from one of the major rifle making companies (so smaller companies and custom orders and such wouldn't count).

Best, not really. Very good without a doubt. I would go with the 6920 by a little. I also really like the LMT.

or go with the MP15T has a nice blend of aftermarket straight from the factory just add your VFG and optics and your good. And its spot on reliability never had ANY problems out of my MP and has had around 5000 rounds through her now. One dry spell of cleaning equallying 400 round storing it for 2 weeks and 600 more rounds to test reliability and never had a malfunction.
