Hi From the Uk, can any one suggest a gunsmith that can produce  custom bolts ?
As some of you may know, we are restricted to manual operating Ar's (no gas or bolw back ) but this does not stop us hand cranking a good selection of .223/.30 car/300 wisper Ar's , but as of yet not much in the way of pistol cals.
The bolt would have to rotate ( as in 223) & not be blow back in any way.
Any help would be great.

For 9mm, all you have to do is take a standard 223 bolt and open it up 0.010" to accept the slightly larger rim.  For .45 ACP, you might be able to take one of the RRA bolts for the .458 SOCOM.  Or modify a .223 bolt by opening it up on the lathe to the appropraite size.  You would then need to modify the ejector and extractor.  We have done gas operated uppers in .40 Super ...

several attempts over here have used that type of modification, the extraction seems the main problem as were manually operating the action after each shot.As of yet non have worked.Although all iv seen are "home made" attempts .

For 9mm we found a standard 223 extractor works without issue (7.62 x 25 Tok application)

For 45 size rim, you need to do some tricks to get the extractor to work, we've been doing them since 2002, Tromix did them before that.  But it can be done and function reliably.
