I have an M4 that I have, I must admit, added quite a bit of weight to while customizing it to my liking.

I now have an A2 carbine with a lightweight pencil barrel that I want to customize, but the emphasis on this carbine must be to keep the weight down.  I am thinking of changing out the standard Colt type ribbed telestock to a Vltor Carbine Modstock, changing out the A2 pistol grip for a Tango Down Battle Grip, adding a Wilderness Single Point Sling with attachment plate, and maybe a short piece of picatinny rail to the underside of the stock plastic handguards to take a small light if the need arises.  How much do the Vltor and the Tango Down weigh in comparison to their stock counterparts?

I can't tell you what they weigh, but I once had that exact setup and I loved it.

Get a real rail, dude.  The ones with an aluminum barrel nut replace the steel one and add maybe an oz. or two.  Nothing, if your rifle came with the Colt dual heat shield handguards.

if you already have a lw barrel.  Adding essentials like a vfg, a lw rail like DD, a sight and a small light isn't gonna cause your shoulders to spontaneously separate.  Add the most important stuff first piece by piece and you should be fine.

Should have purchased an A1 upper.

Heavier stocks help balance front heavy rifles.  Worry about weight on the front of your rifle not the rear.

Depends on what you add.Thats why I cant understand people who use light weight barrels but then accesorize so much it weighs more than my HBAR carbine or M14.

That is exactly my point.  This is to be a minimalistic carbine.  You might notice that I mentioned in my original post exactly what I was considering adding/swaping.  I just prefer the feel of the Vltor and Tango Down and wanted to know how they compare in weight to their stock counterparts.

So the DD 7.0 is less weight than the double heat shield hand guards alone much less the singles plus a rail.

The VLTOR will weigh more or less depending on your current stock (is it milspec or not?)

The TD weighs little more, not enough to matter.  I mean if that is a concern you should be running an A1 upper as that saves more weight as well as a shaved bolt carrier.

OR an A3 upper with a flip-up BUIS.  I went with the YHM - a little heavier than a few others, but works great and is usually cheaper.  That's the LIGHTEST upper with sights I've ever held and the thing I went with on my M4 build.  Plus, you can add an optic with QD mount easily that is comfortable to use if you want to later - try that with an A1.

Bottom line - don't add more weight than you take off if you want to keep it light.  If you do add weight, adding it farther back on the rifle (toward the buttstock instead of toward the muzzle) decreases perceived weight.  If it's heavier out front, it's like holding the end of a stick with a weight on the other end of it - wears you out faster than holding the weight directly in your hands.  It's a lever system, and the fulcrum is very important - given that the fulcrum is the grip, moving the center of mass closer to the fulcrum by making the rear heavier and/or the front lighter to balance the weight of the barrel means you have to exert less force to lift and hold the weight.  It's easier to carry and aim.

As you can see from the weights above, the stock and grip replacement are going to be slightly heavier if heavier at all.  The good thing is that the weight is farther back too, so you probably won't even notice it at all.
