Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - nato or saami chamber??

I recently acquired a Colt SP1 with a 5 digit serial number. On the side of the reciever it's stamped .223 Rem. Two fairly reputable shops have told me it has the nato chamber. Is there a way to tell for sure which chamber I have?? I have a supply of surplus ammo but I don't want to shoot it till I find out for sure which chamber I have.

I believe SP1's have the SAAMI chamber, hence reliability issues and such.
