True or false?

A typical A2 flash suppressor is indexed so the slots are facing up purely aesthetic reasons.

I should get my approval shortly for a 22lr silencer(SWR Warlock).  It would be fun if I could put it on my AR’s for use with a Ciener conversion.  But I don't really want to do that if I have to vice the upper, wrench off the flash suppressor, screw on the silencer, shoot and have fun, then unscrew the silencer, vise the upper, use another crush washer, wrench on the flash suppressor.

Will the A2 flash suppressor stay put with hand tightening?  Obviously if I do that it would not be indexed straight.  Does that matter?  Other options?

I have a threaded 10/22 and a Walther P22, so the AR’s are not the primary guns the silencer would be used with, but it would be fun.

The A2 FH was designed as such to decrease the dust raised when firing from the prone position. And I believe it also acts as a comp, directing some gasses upward keeping muzzle rise down.

Hand tightened I think it would vibrate off with time and with luch you might recover it down range!

ETA: How about a A1 FH and lock washer combo. Then you could simply hand tighten the FH with an open end wrench, tight enough to stay put, but not so tight that you can’t remove it by hand or with a armorers vice block.
