I built an A1 with a 24 inch bull barrel in 1990. I don't have a clue what the twist rate is.(Sucks to get old) I pulled the barrel and no marks other then 5.56 near FSB. Is there anyway to tell the twist rate with simple tools?
Thanks!

Chalmers

You can try taking a cleaning rod with a tight patch and push it through.  Mark the rod so you can tell when it makes 1 complete turn, then measure how far in it was.  Should put you pretty close.  YMMV
