I cant recall ever seeing a thumbhole stock on an AR before but I see them for sale.

That should be banned.  "Federal AR-15 Thumbhole Stock Ban of 2006"....now that's gun legislation even I would support.

It would be wrong to deprive SKS and MAC 90 manufacturers of the required machinery and materials to keep those fine stocks on their fine weapons.  Jeez, what is the world coming to?

Please contact your Congressman and Senators to get the ball rolling.

Thank you for your support.  Donations for the cause can be sent to my paypal address

wow. Now that I see it on the gun it looks more at home. Thanks! Id like to see more pics too make my opinion now. It would look weird on a 20" But on a CAR or mid I think it would look better

To each their own for sure.  I'm a firm believer in the "whatever floats your boat" attitude.  Hell, most people don't understand any aspect of our infatuation with weapons and accessories.

I would personally limit such things to Euro-Airsoft Tactical applications, though.

I hate airsoft junk but if this actually felt good and made for good target acquisition then I dont see it as such a bad thing. I think it looks a little more out of place because that is such a small gun.

I thought Id see it on a sniper rifle. I dont know why but thumbhole stocks seem to be more common on sniper rifles. That wood looks weird on the rest of the AR.

Watch "The Professional"
The sniper rifle used by Leon on the roof is a thumbhole stocked AR15.

Bluish wood on a black rifle?  That looks horrible.

A could more people who did it with wood! I cant imagine why! Thumbhole stocks look good. The black one looked good on that SBR with the beta C. Why would they do this?

I might have to get one for a del-ton kit Im probably about to get. But of course it would be black like it should be.

Come on guys you are missing the point here.
Ever watch the Rifleman?
The loop is so you can spin the rifle like a baton and look cool doing it!
Just don't put it on a 24" varminter you will take out your arm pit

"Precision" rifles aside.....

Thumbstock AR stocks came into popularity just before and during the '94 Ban.  Remember, you had to "add up" the things that made it an "assult rifle"

Flashider
Bayo lug
Pistol grip
etc...

THese are for the same stocks you see on that SG-1 carbine:

AR-15 Thumbhole Stock @ Brownells

AR-15 Tumbhole Stock @ Midway USA

There's a scene in the movie "Time Cop" where some soldieras are carrying M16s with that Thumbhole Stock too.

I even saw that there's a guy somewhere else in the net that makes a Resin replica of that exact rifle on SG-1; right down to the scope and Beta C-Mag.

Contac the guy HERE.

I still think it looks okay. If it served a purpose other than looks Id probably get one. Unless it does and I dont know. Is it actually more firm and stable?

Any pics of yours, wulf?

I wonder if a thumbhole stock for an AR would fly in  CT (we still have an AWB here ).
