I just got the new Bushmaster catalog in the mail.  I was surprised to see they now offer a Carbon 15 rifle lower receiver with a lower based on the FAB-10 www.bushmaster.com/shopping/carbon15/azc-c15rm4ft.asp.  Bushmaster calls it a "top loading" rifle.  Part number is AZC-C15RM4FT and MSRP is $1050.

I didn't see a stripped lower in the catalog.  I wonder if they'll offer it and how the price compares to the original.  As I recall, the Fab-10 was pretty expensive (about $350).

Edited to add a pic:

In oppressed CA we have been feverishly building "off-list" CA-Legal(10 round fixed mag break open to load) AR-15 rifles since around December 2005 for less than what that Bushmaster goes for.

Here's mine built on a STAG ARMS lower with a OPEN magwell.

As soon as our off-list lowers are added to the banned list, then it's back to closed mag-well FAB-10, Vulcan and Bushmaster CA-legal rifles.

Does the mag release allow you to open it up? If not it seems more of a slap in the face if you think about it.

I don't get why they don't, at least, cast in a solid 'fake' magazine.  These just look stoopid.

Why? No point in even building something that fucked. Sorry but the lead would have been flying around here if politicians would have pulled anything that discouraging.
