Anyone ever use products from this company. Thinking of adding this rail to my next build

I would recommend calling them to make sure they actually have what you want in stock instead of just ordering off the internet. I ordered an EoTech from them off the net then got an email 3 days later saying they were backordered even though their website said they had them in stock. They were very nice about cancelling the order though. Prices weren't bad at all compared to some of the companies out there.

Their 2 piece drop in handguards are VERY solid. There is quite a difference between the YHM and the MI rails, with the MI being much machined nicer. I'm not quite sure what is happening with their picture, but its pretty horrible. |

They are nice, but I didn't really consider them super light. I don't have any of the weights that I can recall off hand. I'll see if I can get them weighed as info to put up on the new webiste, but that isn't anything I can do today. Which version were you looking at? |

Do you have the YHM 2 piece handguards? I'm looking for light here. Kind of defeats the purpose of my carbine to have it weight as much as a M1A by the time I'm done with it

Yes, I've got the YHM 2 piece handguards, and I've also carried them for duty use on a weapon. I'm not really sure the YHM are lighter than the MI, but I admit I've never bothered to hold them both or weigh them either.
The MI are machined nicer, but both units are very functional. |

MI were hard for me to install on my M16a1 carbine, they are going nowhere, solid and well made.

For what it's worth, the standard middy handguards (from CAV Arms) weigh 8.0 oz.

I ordered the MI railed hand gaurds last week and they are built rock solid and priced right. Shipping only took about 4 days.

I bought a pair of the #17 from Rainier Arms a couple of weeks ago and so far, I'm very pleased with them. Machine and quality are excellent and the fit is very tight and solid. The only problem I have is that RAS panels are a little loose one them but a switch to TD panels solved that.
I haven't noticed the weight. |

That's kind of weird because I have KAC panels on my #17, and they are quite tight, no play at all. For the original poster, MI rails rock, and so does BravoCompany. |

Another bravo for Bravo Company and MI. These worked out great on my M4. Hope you have a handguard removal/installation tool though. These were a bear to get under the delta ring.

I have used the MI and surefire rail systems. I think the MI are more solid, secure, and a bit heavier.

I love my carbine size MI's. They didn't budge when I had to beat on my Tango Down vertical grip.
Not sure if the grip was too tight or the rails too big? They do have some weight to them but I like that! |

How does MI compared to Surefire rails, I am considering the Surefire M85 as well

I would stick with a rail that is level with the upper receiver, instead of one which is lower. If that doesn't matter to you, the Surefire rails are solid. |

Go with the MI rails. The Surefire are'nt level, and will look funny. They lock in solid, no movement. Stickman is correct, as they are one of the heavier rails, but not by much. Unless you are playing the game of "build an AR as light as I can" then I would'nt worry about it.
Bravo Company rocks, that's where I bought mine. Had them to me in less than a week, and they were by FAR the cheapest guys on the net for these rails. CAV |

I have owned MI and YHM. I sold the YHM. The YHM are listed as lighter, but the MI are made better.

Here's the MI free float extended carbine on a BCM M4 barrel. Required a dremel hack to fit the PRI sight and it gives a 16" carbine a balanced look and more roomy feel.

As the owner of both, I recommend the MI rail. It's cheaper, just as solid, doesn't have tension screws (which can back out if not Loctited), the machining is nicer and the top rail is level. |
