There's a couple companies that specialize in putting together those
'commemorative editions'.  I guess if there's a market for those
cheap-ass knives sold on HSN and all that Franklin mint crap there's bound
to be a rube or two willing to make that kind of 'investment'.

Either the hard case needs some 24"s and a system, or the "Choppa" should come wrapped in an oversized Crown Royal bag

On an A1 lower no less, wonder when these were released

I used to have one somewhat similar, it was the Viet Nam commemorative, I picked it up real cheap at the time.
Got the Viet Nam M16 commorative, a Savage Viet Nam commemorative Shotgun, a Commemorative Tommygun, dont remember what it was for and a Dan Wesson hand cannon, picked them all up for less than a thousand dollars from the widow of the guy who owned them

Dont get too excited, they were REAL hard to get rid of, did'nt make much

To those of us in NY it's a worth it's weight in gold.  It looks like it's a  PRE-BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We could hang all those evil features on it that you crazed homicidal maniacs can have post-ban states.

you guys must have not looked at very many guns&ammo magazines.  I remember this one in particular from about 20 years ago...

they always have commemorative shit like this.

I must say, the company that makes them has better photographers than this idiot on GB...

How does it shoot?  Oh...haven't or won't shoot it?  So it's a $$$ dust collection device that doubles up taking up real estate in a safe.  Got it.  Don't need it.  If I did have it though, I'd shoot the shit out of it and see how long the "gold" would last on it.

Maybe you're not as old as you think...

I'm left wondering why in the "Faq" there isn't a bayo lug on it if it's that old?

I'd have to guess that if it's a Colt, it may technically be a "pre-ban", but for those of us not trapped behind enemy lines... It's just another POS *thing* of sorts  Don't tell me that anyone other than Colt was self imposing a bayo-lug ban before 94... Especially on a "commerative".  But then again, that thing is so fugly, it wouldn't suprise me!

Whattttt!!!...no gold plated cartridges to go in the display case???

At the very least they should've had  gold casings, with solid silver bullets....and maybe some diamond ballistic tips.

It probably doesn't have a bayo lug because the real XM177 series didn't have a bayo lug either.

I just did a search on "retro" and finding some info on the XM177, you're right.  I never noticed before.
