sorry but about the only thing you can do is duracoat it or kylon it or something

of course, most here would just say to keep the "battle" scar and dont worry about it--its character

next time though, masking tape your reciever and punches and go SLOW!

I use Birchwood Casey Super Black Instant touch-up pen in flat black. It works well on my bushmaster and RRA lowers. It is a slightly different shade than the barrel color. I got mine from Bushmaster when I was ordering other items, but I'm sure you can get it at some gun stores.

+1.

BWC will touch-up just about every part of an AR.  In fact, it's the only reason I've gotten "As new" trade on many an AR, upper/lower.

Course, they did have many miles but only a few rounds on em.

Use BWC, AB.  It'll fix an AR up just fine in fast & easy fashion.

ETA:  BWC, AB seems to work better on steel than aluminum FWIW.

You can build up new AR's in Kali?

Yes, you sure can!  But they have to be 10 round fixed, or detachable mag without a collapsable stock, pistol grip or flash hider...  A 'gap' in the law was created by a court decision overruling and invalidating a portion of State law.

To be 'banned', it needs to be listed by manufacturer and model.  Right now tens of thousands of these 'off-list' receivers are flooding the state, and the Attorney General has yet to put a stop to it.  Good for us.  And the good part might be, when they are listed, we register them, and may be able to return the rifle to normal.  That's the best case scenario.
