I have a 16" barrel carbine with standard AR front sight (no railed forend or vertical grip).  I would like to mount either my Surefire G2 or 9P (either with a Z32 shock-mounted bezel).  Any suggestions for a simple, durable and relatively lightweight mount?  All help appreciated.

GG&G makes a "sling thing" that has a small pic rail on the opposite (right) side.  You'd have to use a pressure pad adapter to use it easily, but it's a good setup.  The sling thing mounts through the open area of an AR Front Sight Base.  It gives you a side sling swivel on the left side, and the pic rail on the right.

GG&G on the left and something else on the right.  Shit.  I can't even remember who makes the other mount.  But I like them both.  Both quick detach.

Midwest Industries makes a Tactical Light Mount (model MCTAR-15-01) that attaches to both sides of the standard FSB.

I bought my mount from Bravo Company but there are other sellers selling them at the Equipment Exchange.

Thanks for the input everyone.  The Midwest Industries mount looks promising.

Surefire makes a simple clamp on the barrel mount. I've used it since 1999 with no problems. I tested zero change with the light mounted vs non-mounted, and it was about 1 inch at 100 yards, and 2-3" at 200. Still within my Aimpoint's 4moa dot. Still minute of chest either way.
