I'm looking for an aftermarket part, don't want to deal with the expense of a Vltor or actual Colt part.  I'm looking for something inexpensive.

Anyone know if the Cavarms are a direct drop in?

No. Cav's are commercial.

Colt, Stag/CMT, Vltor, Crane are mil-spec. (made for the smaller mil-spec tubes)

Bushmaster, RRA, CavArms, Tapco, etc.... are not. (made for the larger commercial tubes)

Remember that the mil-spec tubes have a smaller OD then the commercial tubes. So the commercial stocks will go on a mil-spec tube, but not the other way around. And a commercial stock on a mil-spec tube may have a loose sloppy fit.

Now, is that clear as mud?

But a CMT/Stag stock body should run around $45 - $55 just for the body.
