The faux flash SUPPRESSOR (as a flash hider is big ol device used back in WWII, not to be confused w/ current flash suppressors like the A2, Vortex or Phantoms) is just pressed on and provides NO flash suppression at all.
Depending on your FS choice your flash suppression capabilities will range from so-so improvement to a non-existent flash, (don't know much about this issue/topic do ya?).
I owned a Surefire M73 at one time, as noted it's jam up tight when installed, (tops rails are slightly lower than the flat-top btw, but to most it ain't a big issue). Have no experience with the MI version but Paul at Bravo says their good to go so I trust his comments as they should be solid too.
