The can is actually for a 308 bolt gun, but it fits on the 5/8-24 threads and makes it quiet.  No noticable POI shift.

Yes, the top (black) rifle is the 6.8 SPC, and the bottom one is the lightweight 17" MSTN build (5.56), which I use for 3Gun.    The 6.8 SPC will be getting refinished once I can find the right coyote/sand/dirt color of Duracoat.

It's the quartz TSAR.  Like it.   Smaller than people make it out to be.

Both are Gen3 PRI FF tubes.  I may be switching out the tube on the 6.8 for a LaRue 13.2 here shortly.

I am behind JET cans 100%.  Between me and my buddies, we have 5 of them in possession or on order (and another 5-10 conventional cans).  Just picking up a conventional steel can and then the JET, the difference in weight is dramatic.   When you consider that weight is going to be levered out on the end of a barrel, it makes even more difference to the balance and handling of the rifle.  When we screw a TPR-S or a M4-96D/HALO on a barrel, the POI usually shifts 3-6" compared to without the suppressor.  With the JETs, I have not yet seen a POI shift.    For my 308 bolt gun (24" bbl), my zero is the same with the brake or with the JET, and my dope is identical out to 1000 yards.   From these experiences, I ordered a 1 3/4" diameter JET for my 338LM bolt rifle.  The price for a JET suppressor is more.. $800+ instead of about $650 for a HALO, and that is mainly difference in cost of materials.  Still worth it IMO.

I realize that silencertests.com rates the JET cans MUCH louder than competitors.   My thoughts are that firstly, I cannot tell a dramatic difference between them with my ears, shooting or "spotting."  Secondly, even if there were a difference, I'll take a lighter suppressor that does not shift my POI at all, over a quieter one that weighs almost 2x and shifts my POI 5" any day.  As for durability, I wouldn't worry about it.  They seem to be build robustly and MGSS/JET will repair them if you can damage them.

Note that the pictured JET can (with the camo on it) is really for 308, so it is longer than a 556 or 6.8SPC-designed suppressor would be.

I think the argument goes that titanium will throw off more mirage than steel due to its lesser heat capacity.  I have two comments about this-- firstly, I have shot MOR (manually operated rifle - basically IPSC with bolt guns at distant targets) with 30-40 rounds fired in around 3 minutes with the JET on, and mirage did not prevent me from hitting targets or slow me down.   Secondly, JET makes thermal covers for their suppressors which are supposed to all but prevent mirage coming off the can (I don't have one yet).

Thanks for the insightful review.  I've talked with a few folks and some go for absolute quiet while others are looking for something else such as minimal POI shift.  It sounds (no pun intended) that the Jet cans are probably the best for minimal POI with respectible sound reduction.  I have also been told that the Ti they use is why they aren't as quiet as a steel can (something about turning sound energy into heat energy and the thermal properties of each material) and the reason for their higher price.   Thanks again and I can't wait to see the .338LM suppressor.

I've tried a bunch of the Jet cans and have to say that they are pretty quiet. Maybe not as quiet as some of the others but when it came time for me to get a 30 cal can I went with Jet. Quiet enough to shoot without ears on an no POI shift. I'm having a 338 can that will be 1.75" made also. I've shot a Jet 338 can on a 338 RUM. The can was 1.5" in diameter and I was shooting with no ears on. I'm looking forward to Zak and  I getting 1.75" cans for out 338s.
Who said my earings aren't tactical? I bought them at a gun show so I thought they had to be tactical.
As for  wearing armor out there...well  first off I was sent  this armor to evaluate. It's IIIA protection in a concealable less than 4lbs package. I like it a lotso far. I always wear armor when I teach or people other  than Zak  and I are out shooting on the grrasslands. With Zak and our small group I don't feel the need but on a weekend like yesterday when we took the photos..well lets just say there are a lot of reasons lots of people shouldn't own guns. You wouldn't want antis out there with a video camera cause they would make us  all look very bad. The things you see people do out there are plain stupid and  I don't trust them at all. So since I have it I wear it

It'll be interesting to shoot 308 through both a 1.5" and 1.75" JET suppressor, to see if the larger volume has much of an effect, and compare them to a TPR-S.   JET also has some new 2-point suppressors, which connect kind of like the OPS, but use a shoulder turned into the barrel instead of a sleeve; I saw those at SHOT.

Yeah,  to bad my threading for the TRG 338 can and Surgeon 308 wont be the same for me. This testing will be limited to your AIs for us.

Jet makes outstanding cans. LW comissioned a dedictaed 6.8 can with a mount integral to the barrel which was shown at SHOT. We are confident that will also appear in the other Jet lines.

The 1.75in dia can is amazing. It's like 5-6" OAL gain and incredibly quiet. We were shooting it at the LW shoot on our .308 piston gun and it sounded and felt like Airsoft. The combinations of heavy bolt and rifle length buffer tube with a lower port pressure and an opened up gas port made the gun recoil in slow mo.

Light weight is ace.

Never had a problem with the PRI tubes coming loose.

I don't know the weight handy--try asking Wes or Paul.  It's very light for its length.
