I jus got in my OD 1700 Pelican case. I got rid of my 1750 cuz it was jus too big for what I needed it for. Cutting the foam isnt too bad, im using a Benchmade MelPardue.

The space between the AR mags and the AR15 is reserved for optics, etc.

Jus outline your items first with Black marker. This is about my 4th peice of foam ive cut, so ive gotten pretty good at it. But I would recommend taking it out of the case so you dont go too far and hit the bottom foam, its no big deal, but id rather only have cuts in the middle layer. Jus use a sharp knife and use a sawing motion, let the knife do the work, dont drag the knife thru the foam, it wont happen. Youll jus tear it and itll looks like shit.

If you ever cut a case agin, I would recomend leaving room on top of the rifle for an optic. That way you do not have to remove your optics every time you case the rifle.

I'd imagine there was mucho sphincter tightening when cutting on a 2-3 hundred dollar rifle case.

congrats on a job well done

Its a CMMG 14.7 w/ perm A2. Its exactly 16" AOL. Not much room for anything longer, a 16" with phantom flashhider and full length buttstock would not fit.

Die-Tryin,

Are you sure thats a Pelican 1750, and not a 1700? The reason I ask is I'm looking to purchase a case like that for my new build(16") and I have been looking at the 1700, instead of the 1750, because I thought the 1750 would be too big(53" long).

BTW- What 1911 do you have there?

It could be, I jus sold the 1750 and bought the 1700, so yeah thats a 1700 in the pic.

Die-Tryin,

I picked up a SA Mil-Spec GI SS a few months ago and have been customizing it. I wanted a project gun to go with my Wilson Professional. However, the SA has gotten placed on the back burner ever since I started the AR-15 project.
