Started a new AR build today after selling/trading off all of my ARs except my 20" RRA A2.
I'm kind of excited, so I thought I would share.

Baby steps, but here she is:

POF lower from Mooney Firearms (thanks Tom).
Olive Drab MIAD from The_Punisher (thanks).
Olive Drab Magpul PRS en route from SKD Tactical.

Probably going to go with some kind of CMMG upper and a Daniel Defense forearm.

Stay tuned.

Sounds like a nice build, any idea which barrel, or are you keeping those options open?

I haven't decided yet....Keep going back and forth between a 16" and an 18".

Magpul MIAD.

I say you should put a POF gas piston upper on it!  It will go well with your POF lower.

Sounds like it's gonna be a nice one.

Also, Tom Mooney is a great guy to do business with!!

I got the Magpul PRS in from SKD Tactical today, so here she is updated:

I have to let the funds replenish for a bit now, so It will be a week or two before I get the upper.

Why does anybody out there care about this but me ? Who knows, but I enjoy looking at pics of people's builds, so I hope you guys do too.

Not because I am independantly wealthy (I wish), but because I have sold off some of my other firearms to fund the purchase....That, and a bit of hard-earned cash, are what is funding this build.

since you put a precision stock on that baby if I were you I would go with a longer barrle then 16in
but that just my opion and you can do what you like

I am really leaning towards an 18" barrel.

You know, I would love 'the look' of a 14.5" or 16" in a 12" free-float rail-system with that PRS stock, but if you are going to have the stock, you might as well have it for something other than looks.

Speaking of, has anyone seen any pictures of someone using an M4 over in Afghanistan or Iraq with a bipod mounted ?

So I lied.

I went with a CMMG M10R Upper.

Medium countour 16" barrel with full-length gas system, A2 Front Sight Assembly, and a CMMG 'Krinkov' style flash hider (which is supposed to actually willl help the rifle cycle better since it is a shorter barrel with the standard full-length gas system - not sure I like the look though).

I've got a YHM flip-up rear sight on the way.

Next comes the Daniel Defense 12.0 Forend, some OD rail covers, then rings and a scope.

Finally got a Daniel Defense 12" rail system installed (thanks to Tom Mooney of Mooney Firearms).
I also switched out the CMMG krinkov-style flash hider for YHM Phantom Muzzle Brake.

Next up - a bipod mount for my Harris Bipod, some ARMS throw-lever rings, and a scope.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, so I can only comment on the way it's put together. It's very solid, and feels good in your shoulder....the cheek riser is a bit far back (but has to be because of the charging handle).

Alltogether, I think it's a great stock so far - but I'll have to see how it works out when I'm on the range before making a final judgement.

Yes, it is worth it.  Nothing beats a perfect LOP and eye positioning.

That's a sexy little rifle.  You gotta let us know how it shoots once you get the glass on it.
