I know it's been done before, but I thought I'd start another one.

I almost hate to admit this to everyone, but I think I like it more than my carbine.  Just like I almost hate to admit that I like my M9 a heck of a lot more than my 1911.  Does anyone else like their 20incheres more?  Regardless, post em if you got em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

not to hijack this thread but how do you like your GCS? I've got the long range model and have though about getting a GCS with the 20 inch barrel.  How does it shoot?

I have only shot about 20+ rounds out of it since I just received it this morning.

So far after zero, I shot 3 groups at 200'. All Sub MOA.

Here is the very first 3 shot groups ever fired out of the 6.5 Grendel GCS 20. Barrel not even broken in yet.

Fired this morning(march 5th 2006) after 6 rounds for zero. At 200' with gusty winds.

1.39"

Pic taken the first day I shot it.

It currently(not shown in pic) has:

Stag "Stag-15" lower
Model One 20" A2 parts kit, SS HBAR barrel(yes, I know the barrel is black, it's N.O.S., but it's stamped SS 5.56 mm on it).
10 round Bushmaster mag
Sporting conversions fixed mag kit
Houge rubber grip
Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 5C2 Comp/Flash Suppressor

My friend gave me a "carry handle" scope mount, and I have a Leapers 3-9X50 Full Size AO Mil-Dot Illuminated scope on it's way, yeah it's a cheapie, but it's packed with "neato" features for my low budget.  Not that I have a problem hitting anything with iron sights.

I've shot about 200 rounds through it so far, no reliability issues with Wolf, Federal American Eagle, Remington, Winchester and Federal XM193.

I plan on buying a 9-13 Harris Bi-Pod for it next, I like shooting prone.

Here's my latest build, and my first TOTAL build from the ground up....

I hope to get some full pics at some point in the near future.  She runs GREAT and she was actually ZEROED right as it was built.  I love it when that happens!!!!

Weapon is all Colt except the Upper and Charging Handle which are Fulton Armory....oh, and the Hogue grip, of course.

My SP1 posed similarly

My SP1, only mod is RRA match trigger. My favorite config after having over 30 AR types.

I even commit the sacrilege of bumpfiring it, it likes it, really

Modesty forbids...

Oh.  Rifle...yeah, I knew that!

Actually I don't have a 20" right now.  My first-and my first build-was a "frankengun" with a GI 20" barrel, and I really liked it a lot.  Sadly, I had to part with it when sent overseas...

Anyway, my next build will be a 20" upper for my carbine lower, as much to freak people out with a long barreled, collapsable stock rifle as for not buying and building a new lower.  And this thread has sure stoked "the bug" in me!

What's with the Acog on the ARMS mount on top of the carry handle mount? you know the ACOG has an inegral mount, right? Nice rifle though!

This is a standard IDF designated marksman setup. It's so that we can quickly switch between the day and night scope without loosing zero.
