Hi all

I got bored of my Armalite 16" upper, so I picked up a new POF upper in 18".

I don't use vertical foregrips, so the rubberized forearm was a plus for me.  Its very comfortable to hold.

It's amazing how much more solid the rifle feels now.  Before, I had play from the handguards and between the upper and lower.  Now there is just a hair of play between the halves (which is normal), but the forearm is rock solid.

Once I get her broken in I will post some groups.

Its like that from the factory Stickman.  Why wouldnt you want more traction there?  Seems like real tough stuff too.

I don't understand why you would get a rubber coated rail.  Do they make it that way, or was it done after it left the factory?

Either way, thats a nice AR15, especially considering where you live.

My guess is heat.

But I shoot mine to the point I think the rubber would begin to cook.
