Del-Ton has alot of good deals,I haven't bought anything from M1 sales yet.

Both are good. Unless you need some configuration that only Model 1 offers, then I'd probably go with Del-Ton, because their LPK is reputed to be better quality than M1S. |

Wow, 11 to 0 . I know a lot of people used to use Model1 sales. I think they're both good, but my Del-ton has been 100%
I think the only benefit that Model1 has is they have different options and IIRC they offer 6.8spc and other semi-exotic calibers. |

Don't know about Del-Ton but I can tell you Model 1 sucks! Don't ever waste your money on a model 1 kit.

I have a model 1 sales and I am very happy with it, most people that bash them on here have never had one, and have just "heard" somebody had this or that happen so they are all instantly bad. There is a thread on the GD that shows a ton of posative feedback on M1s and a few bad stories (mainly LPK's)

No, I only kept it long enough for the key to fall off of the bolt carrier. Comparing it to other makes, it looks VERY shitty. Not to mention it wasn't reliable at all, esspecially with steel cased ammo. Do a search on Model 1 bolts though. Aside from their tin foil charging handles and non-properly staked BCG, their bolts are famous for breaking around the 2K round mark. |

Here are some photos of mine before I refinished it, all model 1 sales. As for how well the key is staked, I am not sure but it looks decent enough, if not it is not hard to restake.

To be fair, of all the bolts I own - Bushmaster, Armalite, CMT, RRA, Model 1 Sales, etc - the best staking of the key has been by Model 1 Sales, May not be indicative of older work by Model 1 Sales, but I have many thousands of rounds though the bolt and bolt carries (and upper) and have not had any problems. YMMV. I belive that current M1S and Del Ton are both good quality. |

The pictures and information you guys posted is nothing like the Model 1 sales I know. I suppose it's possible they stepped up the quality of their products. I know the bolt carrier I had from them was not "shrouded" like the one pictured.
Still have a bad taste in my mouth about them though, but that could change if I saw some good stuff from them first hand. |

Our bolt carriers and bolts come from Stag and RRA. ColSanders, you should give us another chance.
I can tell you this much, every broken bolt that has been returned to us had been used with crappy steel case Wolf ammo. The main thing is that people don't call us about problems. Our stuff has a lifetime warranty on defective parts (except if you use Wolf ammo). srt205 |

Fixed that for ya. My buddy owns a Model one sales and gets 1/2 MOA, He has never had a problem with his. I was going to get one but I am opting for a 338 spectre. So Teppo here I come. |

well with del-ton you can be assured of a total quality purchase and good service. with model one you might not be but I think they are cheaper.

I have a Model 1 upper and have had zero problems with it. The very first group I shot with it was around 1" with military ammo. The fit and finish are great and mated well with my Sun Devil lower.
I'm thinking of ordering a 6.8 upper from them soon. |

I just finished building my third AR. One was a complete rifle kit, two others are just the uppers. I have had nothing but absolute perfection from Model 1. When I call customer service, I get straight answers no B.S. The oldest upper I have has 7000 rounds down the tube, most of it Wolf steel case .223. It's seems if your AR doesn't have A, B, C, or R on it , it's somehow sub-standard.

My M1S kit has performed flawlessly through over 1,000 rounds. Ordered it on a Monday, received it on Wednesday, went together with 0 problems.

I ordered a chrome plated NM bolt carrier assembly from Model 1 and it turned out to be a VERY nice Young Manufacturing chrome plated bolt carrier assy which I am completely satisfied with.
EDIT: When I ordered a Chip McCormick trigger from Del-Ton they were very helpful (except for being out of stock and backordered for two months) |

I know many people are happy with their Model 1 purchase. I was not. I purchased a 6.8 upper from Model 1 and it was a piece of crap. What was wrong with it...I hope you have a few minutes. Here are the basics:
1) 6.8 SPC upper shipped with 5.56 bolt in the BCG. Good thing it wouldn't chamber a round before I learned the REAL hard way. How exactly do they check headspacing when the bolt won't close  2) Carrier key was not staked properly and came completely loose within 50 rounds. This is a common problem they seem to experience. You would think they would have figured this out by now. I know I could have staked it properly myself but I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO! 3) Failure to feed, failure to extract, failure to function about 25% of the time with a variety of ammo. |

Finaly got to shoot my M1S upper this weekend. It performed flawlessly. It loaded, fired, and ejected every cartridge perfectly. I will go this weekend and get more data on its accuracy but at 25 yards during familiarization it was shooting sub MOA. Ammo used was Black Hills 5.56 mm Mk262 MOD1, 77 grn.

I haven't had any major problems with M1S. Just don't have them put the barrel on the upper. My FSB was canted and when I tried to remove the barrel to fix it the nut wouldn't budge. Ended up rounding some teeth on the barrel nut before I gave up.(I was using a proper barrel wrench) I was putting a scope on any way so I wasn't too worried about it.
