Do not under any circumstance bend the 4 tabs on the bottom of the floor plate, you WILL break them.  You want to slip the plate from under them.

You said pry and as an Armorer for three years, I have seen the tabs pried right off the mags.  It has happened before and will happen again.  The gentleman who originated this thread obviously has no experience breaking down the magazine and needs explicit instructions.

The proper method is illustrated here on page 41 in Tech Manual 9-1005-319-10.  The outlined procedure in the dash ten manual does not involve the use of a screwdriver at all although a phillips head screwdriver works well as a lever provided it fits thru the hole in the floorplate.
