The heavier the buffer, the more the bolt will be delayed during unlocking allowing the pressure in the chamber to drop and aid in extraction of the spent case.
I run 9mm buffers in both of my carbines (carbine gas system and Middy gas system). WIZZO |

I think new LE Colt's are NOW shipping withc H2's. I personally run H3's in my carbines. C4 www.GRTactical.com |

I'm running an H in my CMMG 14.5 M4 with no issues. I plan on trying a H2 in my Skich Colt SOCOM 14.5 build.

Thanks for all the help... Does anyone know what Colt uses in their 9MM, I think 6950. Do they just use the 9MM buffer? I have a OLY 9MM upper on a BM A2 stock and want to put a collapse stock. OLY says use the standard 3.0 and I am starting to think heavier. Thanks once again.

I use a 9mm buffer in my 14.5" M4 and an Enidine buffer in my POF 16"... Quicker second shots with heavier buffer and I shoot Wolf for plinking...

I got my Colt the day before last X-Mas in 2005 and it has a H Buffer in it. I called Colt and the Manufactered date is 2005. How much better will it be with a H2 or a H3 Buffer in it?

I haven't used an H3 buffer, but I can hardly tell a difference between the standard, the H and H2 buffers. I definitely can with the 9mm and Enidine... TS Edited for misspeeled word. |

I use 9mm buffers in 3 of my 14.5 carbines and they feel like a 20" rifle.I did this of course to delay unlocking of the bolt to where the pressure in the chamber is not at its peak during extraction putting less stress on parts.I can tell as the brass flies farther than it did when just using an H buffer.
