can someone point (no pun intended) me to a discussion on the various types of muzzle devices such as muzzle brakes, flash suppresor, compensators..etc.. I just got into AR15 and wanted to sound semi intelligent at the range...

p.s. difference between "AR-15" and "M4" (eg the SEBR 2005 I just bought)

M4 is kind-of a generic term for anything resembling an Army M4.


But the difference between M16/M4 and AR15 is the "M" is a military thing, usually full auto/burst and short barrels (below 16" on M4). Basically, no rules apply to them hah.
