My Bushy ambi safety does not wobble. I'm not sure what you meen by wobble ?
does it twist or is it to small for the hole or what ? Invisiblesoul |

I guess you can say it twists. It is a DPMS ambi safety. I always thought this was common.

I have a bushmaster lower and just picked up a ambi safety at the gun show
The guy I bought it from said it was a dpms safety, I thought they were all mil spec so I got it When I tried to install it, the left side stuck out quite a bit even though I tightened the screw all the way. Just wondering if this was normal Thanks |

I have two Stag Arms ambi selectors on two of my carbines and they don't wobble.
I would guess that the grooves of your selector might be too big/ deep and the detent pin could not exert enough force to hold it tight. You could try another same brand or a different brand selector.
It should not stick out quite a bit, it should be the same or close to the original selector. There is probably a difference in the dimension with your original and ambi selectors. |

I agree with Alpha-Romeo3. Sounds like a safety selector detent/safety selector detent spring related issue if you mean it wobbles from safe to fire.

Your left side looks fine but your right side, wow, that's a really big gap.  It seems from your photo that your right side lever is not all the way into the selector shaft. There usually is a groove in the shaft facing the lever detail, make sure it goes in all the way, you might have to remove it from the lower first and experiment with it. Sometimes there is a tolerance stack between the length of the selector and the width of the lower receiver and it would either be too tight or too much gap. If you don't want to rework your selector, you could try other brands that might work better. |

Yup. and I had the same gap---only wider.  Had to rework the tenon on the thumbpiece, and take off both some thickness and some width to get it to fit properly. Not a hard job but just another example of DPMS's really crappy quality control. They just don't seem to care about sending their product out being right the first time. Sure, some of it comes in perfect, and some doesn't. The guys who get the perfect pieces get on this site and say "Hey, I love DPMS, 'cause the XYZ I got tfrom them is great." Those of us who have gotten what would have been rejects from a top line maker get on this site and spread the word. Sure I'll buy DPMS stuff again----if it's at a dealer or show, and I can see what I'm buying. Mail order DPMS anything? Hell, no.
