Well I am not likely to run out and buy the rag so I can see the bayonet so how about a short description? I know of the M7 pointed, edge and false back, M9 more of a modified Bowie blade with wire cutting ability, there was an Eikhorn that had a longer blade and saw back, wire cutting etc... or you could scan the magazine... what is so special about the Bayo that has you so worked up?
M9 and two Eikhorns

No it shows no screws in the handle!

I was wrong serrations face the ground when put on!

has a Doble edge the handle looks to have aSLIGHT  finger notch! Handle looks like a snikers bar square like? handguard has the big hole to go over bird cage and a small hole on the other end?

Come on somebody has this Magazine and is in the know???

I did a search and came up with nothing so it might be a aftermarket type?

The grip are not like Kabars>

More like Slabs  and the Butt is square?

This one?

If so, it's made by Camillus and they go for about $210.

There is a bayonet made in Italy that has a tanto type blade and the main cutting edge mounts skywards, very interesting looking bayonet.

I'd love to get one but have not seen a single US distributor and the things are expensive as hell.

That's a pretty sweet looking bayo!  No wonder FMJ's been hounding us about it!

Anyone else think it's strange that the main cutting edge of the Extrema Ratio faces up (toward the barrel)?

Extrema Ratio knives are extremely well built and they use some pretty high end materials. You'll likely never wear one out. They also have a new US distributor. www.exxcess.info/extremaratio.aspx

On a mounted bayonet, it really doesn't make a difference if the edge is up or down.  It does make a difference when its being used as a knife.  A big guard on top really interferes with the grip, whereas one on the bottom does not.  If you look at the Soviet bayonets, they face the same way.

Good points. I have ground the upper guard off of all of my fixed blades that have (had) them.

Actually, it makes GOOD sense to face it up.  While properly attacking a foe with a bayonet, the user thrusts the rifle towards the enemy and naturally up.  As the bayonet strikes the enemy, it punctures and cuts in an upwards movement.  With the blade on the "top", it is more effective.

It works the same as the sharpened clip of a Bowie knife.

The USMC bayonet actually HAS a sharpened clip like a bowie, so it's preferable (a clip is deadlier than a blade, as it is curved TOWARDS the strike.)
