I've been wanting one of these baby's for a long time and finally am the prowd owner of this American Classic. Put its first hundred rounds through it today and it fires like a dream

Welcome to the site, excellent first post, it's always nice to have a first post that begins with 'first gun' and ends with 'AR15.'

Nice weapon choice too.

Wow, looks exactly like my first - enjoy a thin wallet and a bad case of BRD.

Very, very true.  I'm having to skimp on my cellphone and insurance bills for a bit to completly pay this one off...

It is already too late, Black Rifle Disease has already claimed another victim. No worries though, BRD is one of the fun diseases to have and is a good thing.

Nice looking rifle and welcome to the board!

Other than a threaded muzzle and perhaps a collapsing stock (whether or not you like your A2 stock or not) I wouldn't mess with it. It's built to last and will work great for many many years if you don't add 100 lbs of tactical crap all over it. You don't spend the giant chunck of change on a colt just to start switching out parts...

Nice way to start. Wish I could have convinced my parents to spring for one of those for my first when I was 12. Oh well, I did pretty good with a single shot Springfield.

Great Piece/Colt's are a good buy now considering the General Dynamics deal. My dealer just got back from the shot show and say's. Colt's are a great investment now, not knowing what will happen with the commercial division. Is That a 6530?

Sweeeeet,  Mine has the thin barrel w/no suppressor. It's the lightweight model Have not shot it yet.  ..... Have fun,   it's gotta be a great shooter. Nothing like the Colt's..
