I've decided to go away with the Larue rail and EOtech and stuff. I figured that if someone broke into my place I wouldn't have the time or the cordination to flip all those switchs and stuff like that. Instead I now I have a much simpler system that I feel a whole hell of alot more comfortable with. Here's whats at my bedside everynight with a round in the chamber and on safe.
Colt LE6920
Surefire Weaponlight/Handguards (the one with the light in the handguards)
Carry Handle Attached to the Upper
LMT SOPMOD stock
Tritium Front Sight Post
If you notice I also don't have a sling. To be honest, I don't see where a sling might be of any use for a HD situation. I mean are u actually going to sling up your rifle before checking whats downstairs? For me its just one big snag point, but YMMV.
