What's the most comfortable and looks the best?
Post up some links and pics. Thanks. :) By the way, I'm thinking about the G27. |
Comfortability wise, the Hogue wins. It's not as tacticool though. The Magpul MIAD and TangoDown are both good choices as well, just not nearly as comfortable.
Sierra Precision for the heavy rifle, Tangodown for the carbines.
The Sierra Precision fits like a glove. Have yet to find a more comfortable grip on any rifle platform. |
I am another Hogue user although I have been eyeballing the Ergo.
I saw one at a show but it was not on a weapon so I could not get a good feel for it. |
+1 Ya know, this really has a lot more to do with what kind of hands you've got, rather than what other people are using |
+1 on the sierra. you may like this one also. www.davidtubb.com/grips.html |

Anybody have experience with the First Samco G27? It looks really comfortable.
The G27 is the best I've found so far, especially if you have bigger hands... |
magpul MIAD.
it's the only modular one out there, so it just more likely to fit a wider range of hands than the other models. |
very true, i love mine. |

I'll probably go with that, my original instinct :) How is the fit on the gun iteslf? Does it look right? Any pics of it on the gun? |

I've tried a lot of differnt grips, and like the MIAD the best by far!! |
Hogue is on nearly all my firearms.
I've handled the MIAD. It looks cool. That's about it though. It's not something you'd ever want to put through a torture test. |
I have a Cherokee grip on my AR now but am looking at buying an OD G27,,,when I find one.

Black is nicer :) |

Where's the cheapest place to get an Ergo?
Got this bookmarked for the G27... http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=125&t=289647 |

Smartest thing said in this thread. It doesn't matter what looks "Kewl" or what the other guy has. The grip has to feel good in YOUR hand, and be at a proper angle for trigger reach and the ability to operate the selector with your thumb. |
Hard to experiment with that though online...Trying to see what people like the best, then try that. If it feels good then I keep it. If I don't like it, I sell it and try the next on the list. I have medium size hands =-P |

Hogue...................finger swells and non-slip rubber is best for me
i have:
Tango Down Hogue Ergo (suregrip and regular) highly recommend the Ergo (suregrip) and Tango Down |
A2 even though I hate it, Im just cheap.
Houge on another AR, I love it. |
You definitely need to try as many different pistol grips as you can. Finger grooves/no finger grooves, grip angle, texture, size, shape, are all individual choices. Don't pick a grip because it "looks cool" or because it's the "in" thing on Arfcom.
That said, I like the TD and the MIAD, but prefer the TD. |
I stated that I have the TD, but I really would also like to try the MIAD for the flexibility.

AR10A4=(green) Hogue
Colt Sporter Match HBAR=Hogue RRA Entry Tactical=Ergo Suregrip Bushmaster M4A3=Ergo Suregrip |
I am becoming a convert myself as a long time Hogue promoter, I am now endorsing TangoDown while not quite as comfortable a grip surface, the lack of finger-grooves makes it a more universal choice. Love the TD |
I have a Hogue, Tango Down, and Ergo. I prefer the built in gapper and smooth face of the Tango Down, but like the backstrap of the Ergo. Not sure what's going to wind up on my latest build.
I have the first Samco G27.
Great grip, but I can't compare to others, since I haven't tried them. |
For some reason I like the A2 on my 20" A2, but did not like the Hogue.
But on my 16" carbine I like the Hogue even better than the A2. So maybe different setups/ configurations will change your individual preference on grip choice? Maybe so... In fact, I was going to get rid of my hogue, until I tried it on a different setup. Now I really like it. Just a thought. |
