So I have until the 10th to figure out exactly what I want.  I know I want something chrome lined, flat top, mid length hand guard, 4 or 6 position stock.  I was looking at the RRA Elite CAR A4 chrome lined.  However there is a local shop who has a Armalite with almost the same features but it runs about $200 more.  On of of that the Armalite will need a iron sight for the front.  Is the Armalite worth the extra $300?

No, not by a long shot.

I was hoping for replies like this.  I'd like to get the RRA and a Aimpoint Comp M2 but only so much money :)

Go RRA, especially for that price difference.  Post pics when you get it!

I sold my Armalite 20" to buy a RRA mid length.

Just got done answering the same question myself. I went with the RRA. Purchased yesterday. The 300 in savings got me the front and back flip up sights and 5 extra mags. I figured that not being able to afford the aimpoint right away this leaves the rifle configured exatly the way I WILL want it when adding the optics.

I love Armalite rifles, but there is no way that an Armalite rifle is worth $200 more than a RRA.

No way.

ThePrepared_com,

Something else to think about it to NOT purchase the carry handle.  If you plan on getting an Aimpoint or Eotech down the road, just get a back up iron sight now.  The BUIS will work just as well as the carry handle, and it will save you $100 or so.

wow man, under no circumstances should you be considering getting that Armalite over the RRA. I doubt it is worth $50 bucks more, let alone $300. People seemed to be almost universally pleased with RRA, it is incredibly rare to hear someone bash them. The fit and finish will be better on the RRA, and the barrel isn't that much heavier than the Armalite's. If you can get an RRA that is equally as good, plus the Aimpoint.....nough said.

Bought a new Armalite but it took a RRA barrel to get it to function right. If I could do it over I would get the RRA which has the 2 stage trigger standard.
