My friend just picked up a new Bushmaster M4A3 and it has a key hole looking mark right behind the shell deflector. I looked at my Bushmaster and mine doesn't have it. What does this mean?

some of my bushmaster's have it and some have other markings, hell various uppers have it.

pretty common


These markings denote the foundery that the receiver was originally forged.

There are several major companies providing raw forgings, including, but not limited to:

Cerro

Marrieta

Cardinal

Kaiser

Anchor Harvey

It means that the hobbits from lord of the rings made it in there little workshop on the other end of the enchanted forest!

it just means its made by CERRO FORGE
