There is no federal requirement for documenting the "exchange" (sold, given, donated, gifted, whatever) of a firearm of any kind between persons. Same for Florida, as far as I know. If you two know each other and you, as the receiver, are not prohibited by federal or state law to "possess" firearms, then there is no issue. If he wants a "document" for his "peace of mind" (typical damn liberal) then, as previously posted, write up a "Bill of Sale" for $.01 and list the particulars of the firearm (serial number, Make, Model, caliber, barrel length, etc) and give it to him along with the penny.
ETA: FWIW, you couldn't even call in a NCIS request to the Federal Clearance Center since the first thing one must provide is an FFL (Federal Firearms License) number since only sales from FFL Dealers are required to be cleared.
