Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - How do I clean brass off of the frame

I have a colt and got clumsy with the brass punch(key) and put a nasty gold scratch (line) on my receiver.  What can I use to clean it off?  I tried hoppes bench rest it did not work.

Try a regular pencil eraser and some gun oil......it works great!
