Does anyone have any input on the quality or effectiveness of the American Spirit Arms flip up iron sight?

http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/productdetail.aspx?p=1555&s=5865  ??

It looks like the GG&G model...

Any info would be great, thanks.

Jonathan.

I have one and am completely happy with it.  The apertures are clear and funnel in a lot of light.  For a backup sight it is low profile when folded.

In a perfect world it would lock in the up position, but it only has a ball detent.  So far in training and shooting, I have not had it get knocked down, but I don't use it much as it is the back up only.  In this role I feel it is worth the price.

I have one. I'm not using it. It's a good sight, I just don't have a platform to use it on.

I sent you an IM on the one I have..

Ditto what Martens said. Mine has been mounted on my ASA 9mm carbine and worked perfectly since day 1.
