Making trade instead of cash for battle rifle. No RRA, Bushmaster, Oly or other manufactures offered by other person.
This will be next ARs to sit with my Armalite and Colt 6920 (with ACOG and light).

NIB Colt LEO 6721 with all accessories
NIB Colt LEO 6520 with all accessories

Will probably sell one but which one. Use is for range shooting and all around ammo weapon.

Would appreciate any known pros and cons for these models.

Thank you

Have you ever seen a 6721? If not I bet that's the one you keep... That is, unless you find the light weight of the 6520 appealing...

ETA: One of my favorite things about my 6721, besides the flat top feature, is the roll marks...

The 6520 is sweet. The 6721 is a nose heavy pig like all HBARS.

I'm biased.

6721 has the heavy barrel with 1:9" twist and the upper receiver is a flat top...

6520 has the light weight barrel with 1:7" twist and A2 upper reciever...

Other than that they are just about the same...

I second that.  Keep the AR6520.

For a range and all around ammo gun?

The AR6520 is light and handy- just don't use it if you need an optic.

I'd keep the 6721 HBAR and convert it into a precision rifle; it already has the heavy barrel and flattop Upper; throw a freefloating Rail forend and a Magpul Precision Stock and maybe a match trigger job.

HBAR will give you better accuracy and the flattop will enable you to attach good optics to it. But in the end, the decision will be yours and yours alone.

This is what I am looking at:

Nothing wrong with nose-heavy Pigs; I like them, specially if they are capable of throwing bullets at a good distance.

The heavy barrel has its place, for shooting distance, for instance. I just don't think they belong on carbines.

True; I guess I was thinking of a 20 incher instead of a 16 incher. Just did some research on the Colt numbers and discovered that they are both carbines.

Ugh! I feel like a total n00b!

Yes...I have a lower just like that.  It is currently mated to a Match Target HBAR upper with 4X BDC scope.  The HBAR shoots nice, but is truly a pig to lug around.

I have both and I use the 6520 Govt Carbine more than the 6721
