Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Noob question about Bolt, Bolt Carrier, or Charging handle

I have noticed that used uppers quite often lack the Bolt, Bolt Carrier, or Charging handle. Why are people removing these parts? I was speculating that it is one of those vicious cycles where someone buys a upper and has to add those parts. Then when they sell the upper they remove their parts, so it goes.
