Now that your looking at this, you'll be happy to know this isn't a post about " Is LaRue FF rails better than DD?" but more which LaRue you prefer and why...Im interested in opinions between the 7.0 and 9.0 model on a 16" bbl. It might just come down to a "whatever one you thinks looks better" thing, and if thats the case thats also worth mentioning. Lastly, can you please include where you have seen the cheapest price new and pictures if its not too much trouble.

Thank You!

ETA: All i'll have on the rail is a SF model 96 light, VFG, Bipod......I have an EoTech mounted on the flat-top and an A.R.M.S BUIS

I got my LaRue 9.0 last month for my 6721 with an Operator mid length gas system 16" barrel which I installed myself.

I'm thinking of getting another 9.0 for my other 16" M4gery with a low profile gas block so I could have more room for my hand and accessories plus it will make it look better by hiding more of the exposed barrel.

There are a lot of sellers at the Equipment Exchange board but they are currently in short supply because LaRue also sells these to the military.

Either size should work great whatever you decide on.

I voted for the 9.0 because I like to have as much of the barrel covered as possible.

If you're going to run a midlength gas system then it is the obvious choice, but if you run a carbine system you can use a LaRue lopro gasblock and a Troy flip-up.  This setup with give you a longer sight-radius and more protection from a hot barrel.

ETA:  I got mine from Wes at MSTN, but I've also dealt with Grant at G&R and Denny of GTS, you really can't go wrong with any of these guys.

Yes I do - I was advised by WES put the 9.0 on the 16" carbine barrel - SEXY!

Hell the MSTN posts alone have a bunch of uppers with LaRue 7.0's and 9.0's.....

Oh well, I suppose we could use ANOTHER picture thread.

I had to vote twice because I have a 7.0 on my 7.5" Kitty Kat and a 9.0 on my 16".  I like them both the same and would take LaRue products over any other.

I tried to email LaRue....but haven't got a response yet, and also their online ordering doesn't seem to be working......Can any of you suggest another source to purchase from online.

Thank you!

Personally, I'd call them up and order over the phone.  In my experience, it's worth it to order from them directly.

M700 I took your advice and called LaRue directly, but it seems they will be out of stock for about 3 weeks.....

Does anyone else have any suggestions as to who may carry their rails and stock them?

Thank You

Is everyone on back order with LaRue rails because of a .gov contract? or is it just because its a really popular rail?

I called LaRue to check status on my 7.0 order, they are in production right now.

As far as what length, it depends on the combination and what your goals are.  On a 14.5 or 16" with carbine gas, I'd say 7.0. If you go low pro gas block, you might as well go 12.0 or 13.2 and cover as much barrel as possible.

I would say a 9.0, but with the corresponding gas system as well
