Armalite is definitely one of the top manufacturers, and people rate them up there with Colt and Bushmaster. They always work well, and tend to have really nice finish too (often nicer than Colt or Bushmaster). Of course there are so many more players now that make really good ARs, but if you go back a few years, the rule of thumb for buying quality ARs was "ABC" - Armalite, Bushmaster & Colt. I believe Armalite also has a lifetime warranty, so they stand behind their product. |

Yeah, I was kinda wondering that too. Armalites seem to be good rifles, but it doesn't seem like they get any attention here. Kinda funny though as I'm pretty sure the ar in AR-15 stands for ARmalite!

Yep, Armalite put the AR in AR-15, but that was the original company.

I'll shoot some photo's tonight. I already succumbed to the urge to dress it up, and I put a cheap-o rail-scope on it. It is a neat scopr and for $45 you can't go wrong. Looks bad-ass too.

Yes - but keep in mind that the orginal company that developed the AR-15 is NOT the same as the current company building them. (Kind of like the company called Springfield Armory has nothing to do with the Actual Springfield armory of the past). The current company was originally called Eagle Arms, and they bought the rights to use the Armalite name, and started making kick-ass AR-15's and other products. But they are not derived from the original Armalite company in any way. |
