Here's the rundown, let me know what you think:

Sabre Defence lower (Norrell's gray-black)
--(No reason other than it had a nice, plain rollmark)
Armalite LPK
--(Substituted some JT parts that looked authentic for the bolt catch, selector, and grip screw)
SP1 collapsible stock from the EE
A1 grip from Moore Militaria
Canvas sling from Moore Militaria

A1 surplus upper marked C and K (Norrell's gray-black)
A1 bolt carrier marked C
A1 bolt marked MPC
Barrel/non-NFA moderator from Total Silence Inc.
--(welded for 16" OAL, it's about an inch longer than the originals)

Singlepoint scope from ebay with a cheap one-piece mount

Works for me, what made you go with that sling?

It was GI, old, and green.  I've seen these used in old Vietnam pictures, but maybe there's something else out there that would be more appropriate?

And BTW, my first refinish job.  I followed your guide to the letter, thanks alot.

Looks great!  My moderator should be in this week from Total Silence, Inc. and mine will be done except for the mount for my Singlepoint.  I emailed the Administrator of the JFK Special Warfare Museum with a request for pics and measurements of the original mount.

Couple of questions:

What did your Singlepoint end up costing you?

Red-tinted goggles...source?

Oh yeah, excellent STABO rig.  Helluva ride if you ever have to be extracted that way...

Thanks for all the kind words everybody.  I'll be looking out for your mount measurements from JFK.  I bought the scope about a year ago, I think it totaled about $70 shipped from the UK.  Wasn't easy to find for sure.  The goggles are just a GI pair with a homemade lens.  In "The Raid" it sounds like that's pretty much what they used for SonTay.

I got mine on ebay, they show up from time to time.  You can also buy them direct from the current supplier, but they run about 300, too much for me.  I have the info on my laptop if you're interested.  The current ones are virtually unchanged except for the plastic belt-buckle.

Tom at Total Silence did the barrel/moderator.  It's a 1/9 twist, so he must start with one from JT or Bushmaster, like eklikwhoa mentioned above.  It's marked "B MP 5.56 NATO" ahead of the front sight, is this Bushmaster?  I checked with my caliper, and it measures .625 at the sight, .571 after that.
