I already have a colt le6920 ($980 OTD) but would like to spend less for one this time also in an M4 style. Would an eagle complete upper and stag complete lower be the best bang for the buck for a newbie who doesn't want to assemble anything. Thanks.

I highly recommend assembling at least your lower. It is SIMPLE.......especially with the very nice do-it-yourself guide tacked in the build section.

Not a bad idea but I barely have time to clean a single gun since I'm in med school.

get a complete lower (eaglefirearms.net, EE, etc) and a complete RRA upper (eaglefirearms.net, EE, etc)

hell, building an AR lower wont take more than 30 mins--thats less time than to order the thing....

kit guns and a stripped lower are also good to get for the $$$s (JTD and DelTon), all you have to do is assemble the lower...

That is probably the cheapest way to get a new blaster.  Dump the M4 barrel idea and just get a 16" Hbar and you will save even more money.

Yep, jump on the band wagon and build a lightweight carbine!

Keep an eye on the EE. I put this one together for around $550 with all parts from there.

I've got a complete (charging handle, bolt, bol carrier included) Bushmaster 16" HBAR upper on the EE for $400 shipped. It also has M4 type handguards. Let me know if you're interested. It has less than 1K rounds down the pipe.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the Eagle complete upper on a Stag complete lower.  Sure, you could build one for less getting parts off the EE, etc. but this combo is quality at a pretty low price.  It's what I would do.  Should come out to around $700, much cheaper than your LE6920.

I got it just after the AWB sunset with a 3 month wait. I've heard they're raised their price by $200 since then. PM me if you want more info.
