I have a Surefire M73, but I have been thinking lately of a change to a FF rail..

I'm looking at the Daniel Defense rail. Why?..I get the discount at Brownell's and they have them....

Pros/Cons?

Thanks!

+1
plus
lighter weight
narrower profile

Cons--
Can not be easily removed if needed.
Requires a "armorer" install

Ok I'm not worrying about removing it.

But what do you mean by an "Armorer" install?

I have built my own uppers and installed and un-installed barrels and I have the tools, is there something special about the install?

Thanks!!

might need a strap wrench added to your tools to tighten the locking ring

Thanks guys for the help..

Would a YHM free float tube wrench work on the barrel nut?

I ask this because I cannot find any info on a wrench for the DD rails..

Strap wrench I have, I bought one for the YHM tube I installed on my SPRish rifle..

it might,

the yhm barrel wrench part is just three pegs, which i have used for std bbl. nuts and the larue bbl. nut without any problems. since you already have it then it wouldnt hurt to try it.
