This is my first post here.  I have only owned one AR and I bought it from a co-worker who wanted the cash.  It is Olympic Arms/SGW .223 marked lower with a 3 position stock (seems to be). The upper is not marked at all that I can see, but both upper and lower come with an Olympic Arms manual.  The upper is in .45 ACP with fixed carry handle, round forward assist, bayo lug, long flash hider.  I think the total barrel length with flash hider is 16".  Comes with a magwell adapter that drops out via the mag release, 4 UZI mags converted for the gun.   I am short on AR knowledge and I wondered if someone can give me some background info on this gun.  The only bit of info that I found that was interesting was that the SGW marked guns were earlier ones?  Here's some pics, although they're not great.

what did you pay for the setup?

oly offers pistol calibur uppers and more info can be found at either olympic arms or in the pistol & rimfire caliber forum which is below the ar discussion a few.

the sgw lower is in fact an older lower which is "pre-ban" use to fetch a pretty penny and somewhat still does in those states that have their own bans.

I gave him $600 for the whole deal and a carry case.  It is all in very good to excellent condition. Is that a fair deal?

i would say so. especially if its an actual pre-ban lower cause it could fetch close to that from those in banned states

Try to figure out how to post pictures and we can give you more info on what you might have bought.

I have had 2 of these.  I still have one and love it.  That sounds like a great deal.

Looks like it was made in 1992 according to the website.
