I put an AR-15 on layaway at the local gun store. Its a Colt A3 type with 4 position collapsible stock. 16" barrel with flash hider. It is very gently used, no exterior flaws whatsoever and the chamber appears in excellent condition. Also, it came with a soft tactical case and 8 magazines. The total out the door price was $1060. Is this a good deal or not? I haven't fully purchased the gun yet, but I put $200 down and will be paying it off next week.

Pretty good

That rig sells for around $1,100-1,300 brand new..........when you can find one.

Nothing like a bird in hand though...

Good choice and good price if it's in excellent condition as you described.

Let us know either the model number or the markings for now and a pic when you get it home.

Yes it looks exactly like that particular model. I do not believe the receiver is marked LEO use only, although the guy in the shop said it was. Maybe it could have been marked on the right hand side?? I only looked at the markings on the left side of the receiver. Wish I could remember the model number though...

The LBD prefix denotes 6721 Tactical Carbine

23xxx is a somewhat recent manufacture

Well thanks for all the information. At least I know I got a fair price on a great firearm. Maybe I'll try to talk the guy into throwing a few rounds of ammo in with the price
